Written by Lili-Violet, Produced by Jarred Young and Alex L'Estrange, 'Anxiety' is Lili's detailed depiction of the physically debilitating symptoms that come alongside the experiences of mental illness. Inspired by the grungy guitars of Hope D's 'Second', Lili aims to offer a message of awareness similar to her debut single 'Doesn't Mean You're Lonely' that, experiencing mental illness or the symptoms of, is not something to be ashamed of, in fact, its more common than we think.
lyrics
Is he looking at me funny?
What are they saying over there?
Flip my hair
Over my shoulder
And pretend that I don’t care
Wait, wait, wait, wait
What was I saying again?
Hearts racing,
Legs pacing,
It’s just my anxieties again
Please love me
(Are you gonna leave me?)
While I’m stuck inside my head
(and I can’t escape)
I don’t know why I feel this way
I have nightmares every single day
It’s true
And it’s not the caffeine that’s in my system
It’s you
Have you tried meditation?
Or high doses of lavender oil?
Manifesting, sleep hygiene
Is there someone following me again?
Wait (wait, wait)
What was I saying again?
Hearts racing,
Legs pacing,
It’s just my anxieties again
Please love me
(Are you gonna leave me?)
While I’m stuck inside my head
(and I can’t escape)
I don’t know why I feel this way
I have nightmares every single day
It’s true
And it’s not the caffeine that’s in my system
It’s you
It’s you
Its always you
Anxiety, Anxiety
Anxiety, Anxiety
Anxiety, Anxiety,
Anxiety,Anxiety
Anxiety, Anxiety
Anxiety, Anxiety
Anxiety, Anxiety,
Anxiety,
I don’t know why
(I feel this way)
Oh-ahoh-Woah-ah-oh
Please love me
Don't Leave Me
While Im stuck inside my head
Its you
Its always you
